Shimla, June 18 -- Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while addressing the virtual rally of Nalagarh BJP Mandal of Solan district through video conferencing from here today said that the Covid-19 cases in India were 24 per lakh as compared to 653 cases per lakh in USA and 622 per lakh in Spain. He said that similarly the death rate in India due to Covid-19 was 0.73 per lakh as compared to 61 per lakh in UK, 50 per lakh in Spain and 36 deaths per lakh in USA. He said that the credit for containing spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the country to a great extent goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking timely decision of lockdown.
