MOGA, Oct. 31 -- TEAMS of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and Agriculture department on Thursday imposed penalties on 20 farmers who were found burning the paddy stubble in the district.
A farmer, who was farming on more than five acres land identified as Satnam Singh of Butter village was issued challan of Rs 15000, while, Subha Singh of Daudhar Garbi, Varinder Singh of Butter, Teja Singh of Ramuwala Nava, Tarsem Singh of Dhurkot Kalan, Parveen Kaur of Jalalabad Purbi, Chanan Singh of Indergarh village were asked to pay Rs 5000 each as they have land over two acres.
On the other side, farmers who were farming on two or less than two acres of land identified as Sandeep Kaur and Joginder Singh of Daudhar Garbi, Ranjit Singh, Balkaran...
