Reasi, Oct. 26 -- In an apparent example of corruption, a newly established closure in Pouni forest range has developed damages due to alleged use of sub-standard materials and corruption. According to sources, a meshed closure, constructed with iron angles, have shown visible damage within just months of completion. " This is an apt example of rampant corruption and the use of sub-standard materials that have cast a shadow over the project, with estimated costs running into several lakhs," said sources, adding that the construction, overseen by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Reasi, Range Officer Pouni, Block Officer, and forest guards, flouted essential guidelines.
