Srinagar, April 7 -- Security forces recovered a cache of war-like stores during a joint Search and Destroy Operation (SADO) in Kupwara district, officials said on Sunday.
The recovery was made by Kupwara Police and the 47 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army in the dense Kandi Forest area.
"The joint operation led to the recovery of a machine gun, seven hand grenades, 90 loose rounds of ammunition, a Chinese-made binocular, and two solar mobile chargers. In addition, clothing items, including a sleeping bag of foreign origin and a large quantity of Pakistan-made medicines, were also recovered from the site, " officials said.
An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of law, and further investigation has been initiated.
