India, Jan. 16 -- The one and only MRI Machine of this region at the Jammu's premier hospital, the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), has gone defunct thus putting the patients suffering from different ailments to a higher risk.

The MRI services at GMC-Jammu will remain suspended for at least 6 weeks to come as the machine is old and outdated and requires maintenance and service, which will take more than 6 weeks, reliable sources informed.

They said that on an average around 40-50 MRI scans are being conducted at GMC on a daily basis, and patients with different ailments get long dates for this test ranging from 1-2 months.
