India, Dec. 26 -- A local court has directed the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and the Police to ensure compliance of an earlier court order restraining authorities from obstructing the access road leading to the residence of a Soura resident.

The order was passed by the Court of Ist Civil Subordinate Judge/Municipal Magistrate Srinagar while hearing an application filed by Farooq Ahmad Lone, of Soura, seeking implementation of an order dated June 9, 2023.

The applicant had approached the court, alleging that despite clear judicial directions, officials of SKIMS and other concerned authorities had wilfully violated the restraint order by dumping construction material and blocking the gate and approach road leading to his house. ...
