India, Jan. 27 -- As many as 50 flights to and from Srinagar International Airport were cancelled on Tuesday due to persistent snowfall in Kashmir, officials said, disrupting air connectivity and stranding hundreds of passengers.

An official of the Airport Authority of India said most airlines suspended operations in view of adverse weather conditions and continuous snowfall at the airport. Of the cancelled flights, 25 were arrivals and 25 departures.

Officials said four additional flights were scheduled to land at Srinagar later in the day, but their operation appeared unlikely given the prevailing weather conditions.
