Jammu Tawi, June 9 -- An impressive celebration was organized at Tawi Aarti Ghat, Bikram Chowk, to mark Shri Ganga Dussehra, the Foundation Day of Tawi Andolan, and World Environment Day. The event was held under the aegis ofTawi Andolan, a movement under theTawi India Foundation, led by Chander Mohan Sharma, former Member of the J&K Human Rights Commission.
The program commenced with the sacredTawi Aarti, resonating with Vedic chants and spiritual fervor, invoking the blessings of the holy river. Chander Mohan Sharma, in his welcome address, emphasized the spiritual, cultural, and ecological significance of the day and highlighted the urgent need to conserve the Tawi river, often referred to as the Ganga of Jammu.
