India, July 30 -- Authorities in Bani (Kathua), Poonch, and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir ordered the closure of all government and private schools on Wednesday due to heavy rainfall and worsening weather conditions, officials said.

In Bani sub-division of Kathua, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) issued the closure order as a precautionary measure, citing student and staff safety amid rising water levels and continuous downpour.

Similarly, in Poonch and Rajouri, the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) announced a one-day shutdown of educational institutions. In Rajouri, the decision followed instructions from the Deputy Commissioner, reflecting concerns over public safety.
