New Delhi, May 1 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday (May 1, 2025) refused to entertain a petition seeking judicial probe into the Pahalgam terror attack by a former Supreme Court judge. Justice Surya Kant, heading the Bench, said "judges are not experts in such matters."

The court took a stern view about the filing of such petitions, saying "this is a crucial time when every citizen has joined hands against terrorism. Do not demoralise by filing such petitions".

Rebuking the PIL petitioners, the apex court asked if they want to demoralize security forces and told them not to bring such issues in judicial domain.

The petition was dismissed as withdrawn.
