Chandigarh, June 25 -- Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia was today arrested in a disproportionate assets case after the state Vigilance Bureau raided his Amritsar house.

The former Punjab minister was present in the house at the time of the raid and confronted officials alleging that they had "barged into his house."

Ruling Aam Aadmi Party spokesman said the raids were being conducted at 25 places across Punjab under the 'war against drugs' campaign and that if Majithia had done no wrong, he should not fear.

Besides SAD, opposition parties like BJP and Congress have come out in support of Majithia, alleging that it was a case of political vendetta.
