India, Feb. 21 -- The Government on Friday informed the Legislative Assembly that over Rs 1,684 crore in compensation has been released so far for land acquired for Ring Road projects in Jammu and Kashmir.

Replying to a question tabled by MLA Devyani Rana, the Revenue Department said the Ring Road in Jammu passes through Jammu and Samba districts, while in Kashmir, the project covers six districts, including Srinagar, Baramulla, Pulwama, Budgam, Ganderbal and Bandipora.

The government said the compensation sharing ratio between NHAI and the UT Government is 90:10.
