Srinagar, April 10 -- A suspected kidnapping case in Pulwama district involving two minor girls has turned out to be a hoax, as the girls allegedly fabricated the story to avoid attending school, Jammu and Kashmir police confirmed.

On April 7, the Police Station Pulwama received a complaint from a resident of Ratnipora alleging that an unknown Alto driver had tried to abduct his 10-year-old daughter and her classmate while they were on their way to school. Based on the complaint, an FIR under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was filed, and a thorough investigation was initiated.
