Jammu, April 11 -- Srinagar, April 11 - Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday prevented a protest march by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the recently passed Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, by barricading the party headquarters and restricting protestors from leaving the premises.

Led by PDP general secretary Khurshid Alam, dozens of party workers had gathered at the party office near Sher-e-Kashmir Park to voice their opposition to the bill, which they claim was passed undemocratically. The protestors attempted to march towards the city centre but were stopped by a heavy police presence that had sealed the gates.
