Srinagar, May 6 -- One man was killed and another injured after a landslide struck during stone extraction work in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Tuesday, officials confirmed.

The incident took place in Drugmulla, where the two victims were engaged in collecting stones when the landslide occurred. The deceased has been identified as Habibullah Malik, a resident of Drugmulla. Both Malik and another man, Imtiyaz Ahmad Peer - also a resident of Drugmulla - were immediately rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara. Malik was declared dead on arrival by doctors, while Peer is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
