India, Feb. 21 -- The Government on Friday informed the House that there is no proposal to develop Kishtwar under the Smart City or Smart Town project funded by the Government of India.
Replying to a question tabled by MLA Shagun Parihar, the Housing and Urban Development Department, stated that under the Smart City Mission only two capital cities-Srinagar and Jammu-were selected by the Government of India in 2017 for development as Smart Cities
However, the government said that urban infrastructure development in Municipal Council (MC) Kishtwar is being taken up by the department under the UT Capex (Regular) programme.
