India, Jan. 22 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has informed the Health and Medical Education Department that it is not empowered to conduct fresh counselling or allocate supernumerary MBBS seats for the academic session 2025-26.

In an official communication addressed to the Administrative Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, JKBOPEE stated that the issue of allocation of MBBS students to medical colleges in J&K under supernumerary seats was placed before the Board for detailed deliberations.
