Dharamshala, July 4 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today carried out an early morning raid at a communication centre located on Naoroji Road, Ward No. 4, in McLeodganj, Dharamshala.

The NIA team is conducting an in-depth probe into the bank accounts and documents of the owner of the communication centre, located near the Dalai Lama Temple Road.

Confirming the raid, Kangra SSP Shalini Agnihotri said the action was taken in connection with suspected hawala transactions linked to illegal immigration activities. She said NIA officials are thoroughly examining the suspect's bank accounts, financial dealings, and property records. She said that NIA was here in connection with a case registered at Chandigarh.
