India, Dec. 15 -- National Conference MP and Rajya Sabha member Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan has urged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to include Anantnag Railway Station as a scheduled halt for the Vande Bharat Express, citing public inconvenience and regional importance.
In a letter written on December 12, Ramzan said Anantnag is a major administrative, commercial and tourism hub of South Kashmir, serving a large population from adjoining districts. He noted that while the Vande Bharat services have improved rail connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir, the absence of a stoppage at Anantnag has caused hardship to daily commuters and travelers.
