Shimla, June 29 -- Incessant rains over the last 24 hours has triggered landslides, flash floods, and road mishaps across Himachal Pradesh, severely affecting life and hampering ongoing rescue operations in flood-affected areas of Kullu and Kangra districts.

According to the State Disaster Management Authority, rescue efforts are underway in Kullu where flash floods struck following a cloudburst on June 26. However, fresh spells of rains have hindered the operations. Monsoon rains have so far claimed 17 lives this season-nine in rain-triggered mishaps and another eight in road accidents linked to slippery conditions and poor visibility.
