Srinagar, April 29 -- Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah and chief ministers of all states to ensure the safety of Kashmiri students studying outside the Union Territory amid rising tensions.

Mehbooba said she has been receiving "distressed calls" from students across the country who are living in fear due to the prevailing situation. She said that while some educational institutions have postponed exams and advised students to return home until normalcy is restored, others have opted to continue classes.
