Jammu, March 24 -- Political activity gains momentum across the country as Monday is the last day of filing of nominations for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. 91 constituencies, spread over 20 states and union territories, will go to polls in the first phase on the 11th of next month.

The BJP on Saturday announced another list of candidates, taking the total number to 286, so far, for the election to the 543-member Lok Sabha.

In Bihar, BJP and its allies JD(U) and LJP released a list of 39 candidates of the total 40 seats in the state.

BJP denied tickets to seven sitting MPs, including actor Shatrughan Sinha and Hukum Deo Narayan Yadav.
