Srinagar, Jan. 30 -- The imposition of an entry fee at Srinagar International Airport has sparked outrage among locals, who describe it as an unfair burden on commuters and a "forced tax."

Passengers and vehicle operators said that every vehicle, whether private or commercial, is charged Rs 40 at the entry gate, regardless of whether they park or simply drop off passengers. Locals have termed this practice unjust and exploitative.

"There is no separate lane for entry and parking. Once you cross the gate, you are forced to pay, even if you leave immediately," said Fayaz Ahmad, a resident who frequently visits the airport.
