Srinagar, June 25 -- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said the imposition of Emergency in 1975 was "murder" of the Constitution, and called it the "most inhuman act" of Indian democratic history". "Imposition of Emergency on 25th June 1975 was murder of Constitution. On #SamvidhanHatyaDiwas, I pay tribute to millions of Satyagrahis who fought to revive democracy & continued their struggle to safeguard constitutional values during darkest period of India's democratic history," Sinha said in a post on X.

Later in the day, the LG inaugurated an exhibition on Emergency.
