Srinagar, Nov. 24 -- Kashmir remained in the grip of a severe cold wave on Monday as minimum temperatures across the Valley plunged well below freezing, with Srinagar recording its coldest night of the season at minus 3.2 degrees Celsius, officials said.
Shopian in south Kashmir registered the lowest temperature in the Valley at minus 5.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Pulwama where the mercury settled at minus 5 degrees.
Pahalgam in Anantnag district recorded a minimum of minus 4 degrees Celsius, while the popular tourist destination of Gulmarg in north Kashmir saw a low of minus 1.9 degrees.
At the high-altitude Zojila Pass, which connects the Valley with Ladakh, temperatures dipped to an extreme minus 16 degrees Celsius.
