Jammu Tawi, July 11 -- Jammu Kashmir does not hold any representation in the Rajya Sabha for over four and a half years, with all four of its seats currently lying vacant except for a lone member under nominated quota by the President of India.

J&K has been without any member in the upper house of the Parliament, in its own quota, since February 15, 2021 when former MPs Ghulam Nabi Azad and Nazir Ahmad Laway completed their terms.

Just days prior, on February 10, 2021, the six-year terms of Mir Muhammad Fayaz and Shamsher Singh Manhas also came to end. Since then, Jammu & Kashmir has remained unrepresented in the Upper House of Parliament.
