Srinagar, April 10 -- The transport department of Jammu and Kashmir has reported a substantial revenue generation from the sector during the financial year 2024-25, with earnings touching Rs 964 crore, government data reveals.
Data revealed that the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) alone generated a total revenue of Rs 782.67 crore up to January 2025. During the same period, the MVD incurred an expenditure of Rs 20.23 crore, indicating a high net gain for the department.
The Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) covering the period from April 2024 to December 2024 reported earnings of Rs 181.31 crore (Rs 1813.11 lakh) and an expenditure of Rs 115.69 crore (Rs 11569.25 lakh).
