Jammu Tawi, March 6 -- Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 30 per cent above the average precipitation in the past five days, thereby increasing the water level in the river Jhelum and other streams.

As per the data, against the average rainfall of 25.4mm, Jammu and Kashmir has recorded a rainfall of 33mm from March 1 to 5.

The highest precipitation was recorded in Bandipora with details revealing that the station recorded 68% rainfall above than the average precipitation.

As per the data, nine stations including Srinagar, the summer capital of J&K, Budgam, Baramulla, Doda, Kupwara, Pulwama, Rajouri, Shopian and Udhampur recorded excess rainfall, which varies from 20% to 59% above than the normal rainfall.
