SRINAGAR, June 7 -- The Financial Commissioner (Revenue), J&K, has imposed penalties on Gulzar Ahmad Malik, then Patwari Halqa Arizal, Khansahib, Budgam, after he was found guilty of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 for making revenue record entries.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau had arrested Malik in November 2021, and a detailed departmental inquiry later confirmed misconduct, revealing that money was indeed exchanged and recovered.

As punishment, his three increments were withheld with consequential effects on promotion, and was barred from holding any sensitive post for the next five years.
