Srinagar, April 23 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday announced Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia relief to the families of the victims and Rs 2 lakh for the grievously injured.

At least 25 tourists and a local were killed in Tuesday's deadly terror attack at a meadow near the popular Pahalgam resort in Anantnag district, marking the deadliest such strike in recent years.

Kashmir has plunged into mourning, with several Srinagar-based newspapers publishing front-page editorials demanding justice for the victims.

In a post on X, the office of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia relief to the families of the victims.
