Jammu Tawi, April 8 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was adjourned for half an hour today after a ruckus broke out in the House over the disallowance of an adjournment motion to discuss the Waqf Amendment Bill. Members of the National Conference (NC), Congress, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) raised objections to the Bill, leading to chaotic scenes.

This marks the second consecutive day in which the treasury benches did not permit the House to function smoothly. NC members, led by Salman Sagar, along with PDP's Sajad Gani Lone, called for the Budget Session to be adjourned in order to discuss the contentious Bill. The issue was raised as soon as the House convened for the day.
