Jammu Tawi, March 19 -- Security forces detected and defused a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Bandipora district, Jammu and Kashmir, early this morning, officials reported on Wednesday.

The IED was found around 9 am along the Bandipora-Srinagar highway, near "Sunset Point," by the road opening party. Following the discovery, the bomb disposal team was immediately dispatched, and traffic on the highway was temporarily halted.

"The suspected IED was later defused, and traffic was allowed to resume," a security official stated.
