Jammu Tawi, April 2 -- The Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire and intruded into the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday afternoon, according to a statement by a defence spokesman. The violation occurred at 1:10 pm, triggering a response from Indian troops who retaliated with "controlled and calibrated" fire.

The incident began with a mine blast in the Krishna Ghati Sector, which was attributed to the Pakistan Army's incursion across the LoC.
