Jammu Tawi, April 9 -- An encounter erupted in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Wednesday after security forces established contact with three terrorists, officials confirmed. The encounter took place in the village of Jopher, located in the Ramnagar police station area of Udhampur.

According to Udhampur police, during a search operation conducted by police and security forces, contact was made with the terrorists. "Two to three terrorists are trapped," the police said in a statement on X. The situation remains tense as firing continues at the encounter site.
