JAMMU, May 21 -- The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has issued fresh guidelines for the transfer and posting of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers under the Joint AGMUT Cadre.
As per the order dated September 5, 2024, the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh have now been categorized as 'Category B - Hard Area' along with Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.
This amendment followed the merger of the J&K cadre into the AGMUT Cadre and aimed to streamline postings across different regions. The guidelines also classified Delhi, Goa, Chandigarh, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Puducherry as 'Category A - Regular/Soft Area.'
