HYDERABAD, Jan. 20 -- Instagram has increased the maximum length for reels to three minutes, a significant update from its previous 90-second limit. The change aims to accommodate user requests for more time to share longer stories on the platform.

In a video announcement, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri explained, "You can now upload reels up to three minutes long. We've historically only allowed reels up to 90 seconds given our focus on short-form video, but we've heard the feedback that this is just too short for those who want to share longer stories.
