New Delhi, July 2 -- After a prolonged delay of over 15 months, the Indian Army is finally set to receive the first batch of Apache AH-64E attack helicopters from the United States, crucial for enhancing its combat capabilities along the western border.

As part of a $600 million deal signed in 2020, the Indian Army was scheduled to receive six Apache helicopters in two batches, beginning May-June 2024. However, the delivery was repeatedly postponed, first to December 2024 due to global supply chain disruptions, and then further due to unresolved technical issues on the US side.
