Jammu Tawi, March 26 -- Over 5,400 children were reported missing in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh between 2016 and 2022, with over 1,500 still untraced, reveals the data accessed by the news agency.
In 2016, 1,070 children went missing, including 589 boys and 481 girls. Of these, 766 cases were carried over from previous years, while 304 children-166 boys and 138 girls-went missing that year.
In the same year, 354 missing children were traced, including 164 boys and 190 girls. However, 716 children-425 boys and 291 girls-remained untraced.
