India, Jan. 23 -- The heavy rainfall and snowfall continuing since last night has caused extensive damage to the power infrastructure across the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Jammu region.

Many poles, towers, and power supply lines have been damaged in the gusty winds, heavy rainfall and snowfall all across J&K, a senior PDD officer said, while adding, that the restoration work has been going on and the power will be restored by tomorrow evening.

He said that the worst affected areas in Jammu are from Bishnah and RS Pura.
