Srinagar, Sept. 2 -- The Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir for the next 60 hours, warning of potential flooding, cloudbursts, and landslides.

Independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif said parts of the Jammu region are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, with water levels in rivers and streams expected to rise, possibly crossing flood alarm levels. In Kashmir, moderate rainfall is expected, though higher reaches of Kulgam, Shopian, Anantnag, and the Pir Panjal mountains may witness heavy showers. The Jhelum river level is also predicted to increase significantly.
