Jammu, June 9 -- Jammu and Kashmir continues to reel under intense heat as maximum temperatures across the Union Territory soared significantly above normal on Monday.
In the Jammu region, the summer capital Jammu scorched at 44.3degC, which is 4.7degC above normal. Batote reached 33.6degC (5.5degC above normal), Katra 40.2degC, Banihal 32.8degC, and Bhaderwah 33.0degC all showing significant deviation from the seasonal norm, it stated.
The Jammu region has been reeling under an extreme heatwave for the past three days, with temperatures consistently rising above the 40-degree Celsius mark.
