NEW DELHI, June 3 -- India's active COVID-19 cases climbed to 3,961 as of Monday morning, marking a steady rise from 3,758 reported just days earlier, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths since January 2025 has now reached 32, with four new fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.

Kerala continues to bear the highest burden with 1,435 active cases, followed by Maharashtra with 506 and Delhi with 483. Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Kerala each reported one new death. Kerala also added 35 new cases, while Delhi logged 47, Maharashtra 21, and West Bengal 44-bringing its active total to 331. Gujarat, with a significant jump of 82 infections, has reached 287 active cases.
