Srinagar, May 5 -- Police have arrested four persons over the sexual assault and murder of a nomadic woman in Srinagar, officials said today.
Srinagar Police acted promptly upon receiving information regarding an attempted sexual assault on a woman (name withheld) by a group of individuals near Water Works Road, Nishat," said a police spokesman.
He said the victim had sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to the hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
Following the incident, FIR No. 35/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Nishat, and investigation was immediately initiated.
