Jammu Tawi, April 6 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced an extension of the Financial Assistance Schemes for West Pakistani Refugees (WPRs), and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and Chhamb Refugees settled in the Union Territory until March 2026. The decision was made after receiving approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

According to an official order, the financial assistance scheme for 5,764 West Pakistani Refugee families, which was initially launched in 2018, will now continue from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, with an approved budget of Rs. 317.02 crore.
