Mumbai, Aug. 9 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police has found that IPS officer Rashmi Karandikar failed to disclose a rs 2.64 crore transfer from her estranged husband, Purushottam Chavan - an accused in major cheating and Income Tax refund fraud cases.

EOW officials said the amount, sent to Karandikar's account in 2017-18, was invested in intra-day share trading, resulting in losses. The transactions came to light after investigators analysed Karandikar's asset declarations and found no mention of the transfer.

Karandikar, currently posted as SP/Administration Officer in Civil Defence and Home Guard, claimed her husband managed her bank accounts. The EOW has sought her income declaration details from the Director Genera...
