Jammu Tawi, June 5 -- In a major breakthrough in a sensitive cybercrime case involving online blackmail and obscenity, the Police Station CICE Jammu has filed a chargesheet against two accused, including one currently based in Dubai, for creating a fake Instagram profile and harassing a young woman online.

The case (FIR No. 04/2025) was registered on January 31, 2025, after a complaint was received from the mother of the victim, alleging that unknown individuals had created a fake Instagram profile using her daughter's identity. The culprits had reportedly uploaded pornographic content as the display picture (DP) and had been stalking and harassing her using multiple Instagram IDs by posting obscene material.
