Jammu, May 15 -- SRINAGAR, May 15 - Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Srinagar on Thursday to assess the security situation and the operational preparedness of the armed forces in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. This marks Singh's first visit to the union territory since the launch of Operation Sindoor, a recent anti-terror initiative aimed at strengthening counter-insurgency efforts across the region. During his visit, the Defence Minister is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with senior military and security officials to review ground-level intelligence, border security, and readiness of the forces deployed in the sensitive region.
