Jammu Tawi, March 20 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a high-level committee to address the long-pending issue of regularizing casual, seasonal, and other temporary workers across the Union Territory.
The move comes as a step toward providing job security to thousands of workers engaged in various government departments on casual basis.
According to an official order, states that the committee will be chaired by the Chief Secretary and will include senior officials from the Finance, Planning, Law, and General Administration Departments.
"The panel is mandated to examine the humanitarian, legal, and financial aspects of worker regularization and propose a comprehensive framework for implementation," the order states....
