Ghaziabad, July 8 -- An FIR has been registered against Indian cricketer Yash Dayal after a woman accused him of emotionally, mentally, and physically exploiting her under the false promise of marriage. The case has been filed under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with sexual intercourse by deceitful means. The offense is non-bailable and carries a maximum punishment of 10 years.
The woman, a resident of Ghaziabad, alleged she was in a five-year relationship with the 27-year-old fast bowler and claimed he repeatedly engaged in sexual relations with her by assuring marriage. She also said Dayal introduced her to his family, who assured her she would soon be their "daughter-in-law."
