In a written reply to Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh as per the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said GIM, operational since 2015-16, aims to protect, restore and enhance forest and tree cover while contributing to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
